Anna Strickland
Senior Critic in Photography at Rhode Island School of Design for over 20 years, Anna Strickland’s photographic and installation works have been exhibited internationally. An expert in antique and alternative photographic processes, she has received awards from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, the Artists’ Foundation (MA), and had residencies at the MacDowell Colony (NH) and Anderson Ranch (CO). Recent exhibitions are: La Série des Jardins presented in Paris, France with a bilingual catalogue and Mind the Gap, an installation exploring our relationship with the natural world at Waterfall Arts (Belfast, ME). La Série d'échelle presented at the Spéos Gallery, Paris in January 2010, was the culmination of Strickland’s exploration over the past 25 years of ladders as form and metaphor. She recently moved her studio from NYC to Waterfall Arts, a center dedicated to integrating art with social and environmental issues.Artist's Website
